A graduate of Johns Hopkins University and NYU School of Law, Sateesh is a member of the ABA Commission on Homelessness and Poverty, serves on the Board of the New York County Lawyers Association, and serves on the Legal Services Corporation’s Leadership Council. He also served as a commissioner of the 2019 NYC Charter Revision Commission.
His achievements and advocacy have been recognized widely—he has been named a “Rising Star” by the New York Law Journal, one of Queens’ Power 50, and a “Legal Rebel” by the ABA Journal. He is also a recipient of the New York City Bar Association’s Legal Services Award. In 2026, he will receive the Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System’s “Rebuilding Justice Award.”
Sateesh is the author of Sheltered: Twenty Years in Housing Court and two forthcoming books: The Augmented Lawyer: AI and the Future of Legal Practice, and AI and Legal Ethics. In 2024, he delivered a TEDx Talk,“How a Chatbot Can Stop Homelessness.”
